     This is a table of work satisfaction survey on three groups of company staff among different age level. Obviously, the group who over 50-year-old enjoys the highest percentage of 40% in “Satisfied with Work” and the lowest of 10% in “Unsatisfied with Work”, while the left 50% feel indifferent. As a striking contrast, the group between 41 to 50 years old enjoys the highest percentage of 64% in “Unsatisfied with Work” and none in “Satisfied with Work”, while the other 36% feel indifferent. The third group who under 40-year-old has 16.7% in “Satisfied with Work” and 33.3% in “Unsatisfied with Work”. And it enjoys the same rate with the first group of 50% in feeling indifferent.

     I’d like to voice my own explanation over the survey. First of all, staff who over 50 are basically seniors who have a deep emotion with the company. Undoubtedly, they have the highest loyalty with their work. Secondly, staff between 41-50 may be the group who face higher pressure from family, society and career than the others; thus they have bad mentality and may easily feel more unsatisfied with everything including their work. Finally, staff that under 40 years old are in the medium state comparing with the other two groups, with less pressure and in the run-in period with their career.  

     In order to raise the satisfactory with the work for all the staff, both the companies and the staff should make some improvements. For the companies, they should care more about the state of their staff such as their moods, demands and wishes. For the staff, they should not bring their personal emotions into their work. (274)
